    Can you HTML experts help me out please?

    Ok I am using Dreamweaver MX and a free template for my website I am preparing (I regged the domain but haven't purchased a web server yet) and I am currently having it hosted at GeoCities for free. I just made the front page today and none of the links work so you don't have to worry about telling me about that ha ha. The prob is the page loads reeeaaaaalllly slow. I have 512 DSL and we have a T1 at work and it is super slow, talks up to a minute to load. All the graphics are 1k except for an 18k and 13k and a 2k or so. I am not an HTML master, I just use WYSIWYG in Dreamweaver MX and I have no idea what is slowing the page. Can anyone here take a look at the source and maybe find what is wrong. I would really appreciate it!

    did u see at the bottom of your html code the fowolling:
    "<!-- text below generated by server. PLEASE REMOVE --></object></layer></div></span></style></noscript></table></script></applet>
    <script language="JavaScript">var PUpage="76001067"; var PUprop="geocities"; </script><script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.geocities.com/js_source/pu5geo.js"></script><script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.geocities.com/js_source/ygIELib9.js?v3"></script><script language="JavaScript">var yviContents='http://us.toto.geo.yahoo.com/toto?s=76001067&l=NE&b=1&t=1060076976';yviR='us';yfiEA(0);</script><script language="JavaScript" src="http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mc/mc.js"></script><script language="JavaScript" src="http://geocities.com/js_source/geov2.js"></script><script language="javascript">geovisit();</script><noscript><img src='http://127.0.0.1:1043/bug.cgi'> </noscript>
    <img src='http://127.0.0.1:1043/bug.cgi'> "

    Anyway until u host your site on a free server, don't expect much, as u know the speed depends on the slowest part of the network, so nevermind what kind of connection u have, if the host is not so fast, u will recieve the data by it's speed.

    Yeah that is just added when you view the page (it's the pop-up thingy), the actual code on the site doesn't have that. I hope it is just the geocities servers.

    Ok my friend uploaded it to his pay webspace which is fast but it still loads slow. Can anyone find the code that is slowing it down and how I can fix it. Thanks to all that help?

    I viewed your original link and it loaded quicly. Most of the time in loading the page was the Geocities objects at the bottom.

    When I used to use the free servers, my favorite was www.brinkster.com. They support ASP too and there was very little advertising. I don't know if that has changed now though. BTW, you site template/layout reminds me a lot of www.gamespot.com.
