Big_Mac, I'd edit your previous post. Mods don't like that.
Mods also probably don't like threadcrapping, harassing, and all the junk that t-bird has to deal with, but they never reprimand the jerks that dump on him just for fun. So why should I be worried?

If other people can get away with acting like children, why can't I?

Which means that it'd take ME hour(s) and give me a 50% chance of a toasted card. Don't get me wrong, if it's done, fine. Whether it's me being chicken or knowing my limits, I don't know. Ahhh, this is entering the 'to each his own' world again......

And if Tbird can get away with saying "rubbish" (just to keep this clean)... then why can't I? I realize what you said was directed towards me, hehe. Anyways... I guess you haven't realized all the stuff tbird talks... yadda yadda... and how alot of poeple dont agree with what he says because its wrong... yadda yadda... everyone get's the picture.. so I wont beat it into the ground because its old news.

Now, I know what you're going to say... "well why bash him in this thread?" Well, I was just replying to what he said... he said 12k on a TI500 is more impressive than 18k on a 9800PRO... how can he go about saying that? I disagreed with him... and now you go and defend him, lol... ok .

But anyways Tbird... good luck with that mod... I might mod my TI200 because quite frankly... the OC on that thing sucked butt! lol. Like 200 on the core and 475 on the ram... haha. It's an MSI Vi/Vo one. I want to try and get a hold of my old Gainward TI200 . That thing overclocked like a mutha!

This isn't about the bashing cuz that's been, well, bashed already.

BUT: Just for the heck of it I went to the Futuremark site: 12K on a Ti500 lies in the top 25 scores. 18K on a 9800 doesn't even make the top 100. Now, statistics are statistics, but.......

I mean, I get 17.6K on my 9700np. If I couldn't get 18K on a 9800, and I'm not even talking Pro, then I'd be in Biiiggggg trouble...

He isn't doing it to have a monster gaming rig, he isn't doing it so that he can have an ENORMOUS GO&#173DDAMN E-PENIS. He's doing it because it's a fun hobby. He likes 3Dmarking, and tweaking hardware for the best score he can get. And if you can't contribute to his threads and instead feel like just ripping on him, then grow up.

T-bird, good luck on the v-mod dude.
Although I don't agree with the message medium, I do agree with the underlying message.

Learning to mod on an older card is definitely the way to go. If you don't have something to contribute to the thread, just don't post.

Tbird, I wish you luck, I just hope you follow my advice about the cooling as I am willing to help you learn how to Vmod but only if you actually listen and follow through with my advice.

Post more questions and I will gladly answer them.

Alright... answer this then.... does that mean it's because its so HARD to get 12k marks on a TI500? I dont think so... c'mon bro. Look at your machine, look at my machine... look at vertices machine... Now Imagine an OC'ed TI500 in one of those rigs! . I'm sure if poeple actually cared there'd be FAR more TI500's hitting 12k other than just 25 of them . But the fact is... nobody seems to think it's impressive anymore ... which is exactly how I feel. You know what I mean?

I agree....it's not impressive anymore. No one gives a damn how many marks you have if it's under 20K. No matter what card you got them with. Tbird is living in a false reality thinking anyone cares.

However, the learning you can do with an old card (Vmodding wise), to apply it to a new card, is indispensable.

That's why I wrote about 'statistics being statistics'. Like u said, there'd prolly be a lot more Ti500 scores listed if more people cared. Maybe I was just throwing a bone out, I don't know....

I think it's one of the main reasons people get down on Tbird: Spending so much forum space trying to achieve things that are way in the past tense for most people.

    Please... Please...

Dont forget to ground yourself before you start the mod.. So plug in that trust Soldering Iron and hold onto it by the metal...

But wait a few minutes... So the system can ground itself first and not give you a shock

    Hehehehehe...

Tbird, resistance is inversely proportional to current. Higher resistance (more ohms) = less current (fewer amps). Also, what do you have on there for cooling? You say it's decent, but you never actually say what it is. I wouldn't try it with stock cooling, unless you enjoy the smell of ozone and burnt plastic...

Anyway, people, if you can't tell, Tbird gets his jollies from screwing with old hardware. I can't say it's because he's frugal (or even efficient) based on some of the purchasing decisions he's made, but hey, he doesn't have to risk blowing up a $400 video card this way. Whatever works...
