and not to say I haven't had a bad ECS before, but my wife has been using one for the last 3-4 years w/ no probs. and the same w/ many of my friends that I've built machines for.

and, ever since the K7S5A Pro came out - I have not had problem one with any of them. the older "non-Pro" 1st revisions had some issues once in a while.

Gotta chime in with my .02 on the ECS issue.

I've had a K7S5A, and now I have a L7S7A2. I bought them because I like the SiS chipsets. I first got acquainted with SiS shipsets when I had a Asus SP97-V 'Super Seven' mobo back in the day.

But my experience with the two ECS boards has come nowhere near the good experience I had with the Asus board.

So I recommend the Asus K7S333-E for $63, or the Asrock (Asus subsidiary) K7-S8XE for $60 at Newegg.
