Biostar M7NCD Pro
Anybody have one?? How well do they OC and does it have multiplier adjustments?? Haven't seen any reviews where they test how well it can OC. Then again Biostar isn't know for OCing mobos.
Compgeeks has them on sale for $50 (coupon code- bensbargains).

have one
ok I have one -
It does overclock - however, it does not have the adjustments of other overclock boards. If you want to do a lite overclock - no problem ( I presently have a 2500+ (11 X 166) overclocked (11 X 200) without additional cooling or voltage) - This can overvolt both cpu & ram. The agp/pci speeds are locked - you cant change em. The system self adjusts them for you. same with the memory bus speed vs. cpu bus speed. (IE. no 1/1 or 4/5 setting.)
Now if you want a cheap board that does not have the soundstorm onboard sound, nor firewire, nor SATA. Then get the board. If you want high overclock - go epox.
By the way, the manual is WEAK - just jumper settings and they do not include a port cover for the motherboard. Not to worry tho - the standard one that comes with your case fits fine. It does have ethernet. And comes with a cd full of norton software (Incl. anti-virus)
For a cheap board and system its not bad at all.

Actually for me, it overclocked quite nicely. It does have AGP lock, though it took me a while to find it. Could not find PCI lock, but apparently did not need it as im running @ 2.3- I did put active cooling on the northbridge, and passive on the southbridge.Be sure to flash to latest bios if you get one. One of those links linked to the Biostar M7NCD, which is th nforce2 400 board, it's not the M7NCDP. The M7NCD does not currently have a bios out yet that will allow for multiplier changes, or voltage tweaks. The M7NCD is also single channel DDR. verses dual channel with the M7NCD (Pro). M7NCDP has advanced bios setting for DRAM,Timings, etc.. cas latency. But you need to go into "expert" settings to see them. You can indeed sync your ram just like the deluxe boards, but you need to get out of optimal, and turbo, and go into expert to see it. Basically I got this board because i could get a high OC from it (with cooling mods on chipsets) - but I would aviod the sound problems that are caused in soundstorm by the latency caused by dual channel. So I solved that with an Audigy 2. I had a raid card, so I figured I did not need a deluxe board. I had no use for dual lans, as I had a router. So the Biostar was a logical choice. Runs like a champ-; It does lack serial ATA, but for now I can do without it.

Thanks for the replies. This was going to be an upgrade for my Linux/SETI rig, but if it can't adjust the CPU multipliers I can't fully utilize my 2100+. Right now it's in my main rig, NF7-S running at 2.3G (200x11.5), upgrading that to a 2500+.
Think I'll spend the extra $$$ and go with an 8RGA+ instead.

It has multipler control. The Biostar M7NCDP that is. Has about every tweaking option that higher end boards do. I have 6-12.5 with barton 2500 availible.

The sound problem can be fixed by two things. Driver installation routine, and new realtek drivers. The driver install routine consists of copy/paste of driver package to HD, then deleting the nvida sound, and vid, then running install (exe) within the folder, and when it asks you to install nvida IDE driver, don't do it. Use microsoft IDE.
Then download the new realtek drivers dated 9/2/03.

how high?
How high has anyone overclocked with this board?
Again, i think its an excellent choice, especially for the price.
I wonder how high peolpe have been able to over clock with it.
I have the blasted 98 not recognizing anything over 2.1-2.3 ghz issue so I cant overclock more.

2.3 if it's stable is great. I get 2.3, and it's stable. But I put active cooling on the northbridge, and passive on the southbridge. I also have great case cooling. I could go higher, but I want total stability along with speed for my games and apps. I spent $57.00 for the mobo, and $93.00 for the XP2500. Not bad.
