    Score seems pretty low?

been a long while since i upgraded anything in my system and after searching high and low for the best band for your buck video card i came to the conclusion the ti4200 is the one since it's pretty much on par with the fx5600 with all the goodies turned off, so i ordered one....either something is seriously amiss with my system or the card blows, i'd like to think it's my system.

    system: T-bred A @ 1800mhz
    768meg ram on 150mhz fsb
    soyo dragon platinum kt333
    WD 80 gig, 200 gig
    MSI Geforce4 TI4200 64meg not OC'd yet (was running geforce2 mx400 64meg)
    sb live value
    using onboard nic
    -------------------
    3Dmark 2003
    score: 1757
    wings of fury: 116.6 FPS
    battle of proxycon: 10.8FPS (***?)
    trolls lair: 10.8FPS (again ***?)
    cpu test 1: 41.4 fps
    cpu test 2: 8.0 fps
fill rate single texturing: 674.3 m/texels
    multi-texturing: 1736 m/texels
    vertex shader: 5.1 fps
    ragtroll: 5.9 fps

didnt run sound tests... is this about right? i'm starting to wonder what the fx5900 ultra would run.

The TI 4200 is not a DX9 card and will not do good numbers on 3dmark03. Your score is right where it should be for that card.

wow thats weak, alright thanks man...i hear the fx series isn't REALLY directx 9 either though, anyhow now i get 1965 after overclocking it to 300/590... this is all at 800x600 btw. i have a new board and a barton 2500 on the way so maybe it will be a little better after that, who knows...not what i was expecting, not much improvement over the geforce2 mx IMO

Well first you need to set 3dmark03 to default res which is 1024 X 768. With your res set to 800 X 600 you're getting a high score, but it really isn't giving you a true score. Everybody benches at 1024 X 768. Second, a new CPU and MB aren't gonna help you out a whole lot. 3dmark03 was designed to test the video card and not the rest of the system. Run your rig on 3dmark2001 and that will give you a better idea of how your rig performs. 3dmark2001 will test your whole system and it's also a DX8 benchmark.

uninstall 3dmark2001 and reinstall. That should fix your problem. I have DX9B and I can run either.

kept bumping the clock up more and more and the score goes down like 30 to 40 points for every 10mhz in bump for either core or mem, at 300/610 i got 10398 and at 310/635 it was 10230 why?
