Backup SATA HD to PATA HD

    Hi and thanks in advance.
I searched the forums and couldn't find any hits on my question. Its time for me to backup my c: drive, which is a Raptor on a SATA channel, to my d: drive, which is a Maxtor 40gb on a PATA channel. I've read a couple threads indicating that there appears to be problems using Norton Ghost 2002, and even 2003, trying to clone/image from a SATA HD to a PATA HD. I'm wondering if anyone has done this successfully with any flavor of Norton Ghost (I have Ghost 2002) or any other similar product? Regards, da Wiz!

I've only gone so far as to see that Ghost actually detects the drive - never actually got around to creating an image. It detected fine by the way (865PE chipset).

If you have an 865 or 875 chipset, isn't the controller just detected as being a native IDE controller? Unlike some of the boards that have a Promise IDE controller on board, or whatever, like my Epox 8K3A+?

I think I'm gonna have to try this out tonight
