Scroll wheel doesn't work in a game

Okay, I got an inexpensive optical mouse today to replace my old rolling ball mouse. It's a Sakar Iconcepts optical mouse model no. 77052. Uninstalled old mouse, plugged in new one, installed drivers. Now, the wheel works when using applications such as IE, or games like UT. However, the wheel doesn't work in Command and Conquer Renegade. Is it possible that it thinks it's still using the old mouse and that it hasn't updated its hardware profile? Would uninstalling and reinstalling the game work?

    Arrow

What about your control assignments in the C&C menu? I've never played the game sorry, but I have had nonworking scroll wheel problems due to unassigned commands in many games before.

It says, wheelup and wheeldwn is assigned. Hmmm...maybe it's assigned to the old mouse wheel?

I think you would do your computer no harm in doing a uninstall of the game and then attempting a reindatll of the game.

I think that would make sure you are using the new mouse, just as long as all of the old mouse drivers are 100% removed.

    Cool, I'll try that.
