Dolby Digital Live?

I saw that the ASUS Fatal1ty motherboard has something called dolby digital LIVE- meaning, we will once again get realtime encoding support for sound on modern motherboards- like in the nforce 2- is this going to be widely adoppted? Has anyone heard anything about this? How bout adin pci-e sound cards?
