    Barebones retailer?

I am looking at getting a barebones system.

I really only need case, power supply, mobo, case and RAM.

Does anyone know of a good retailer that carries a variety of barebones systems?

I tried newegg ,they really don't have anything, and Tiger Direct has what I am looking for, but the CPUs they have aren't that great.

    Thanks in advance!

From what I've seen, Newegg actually had a pretty nice selection (on SFF bare-bones anyways), but it just depends on what kind of platform you want to go for, I guess.

And from what I've seen with bare-bones, most of them do not come with RAM, so you might have to purchase that separate from the BB system.

Yeah, I expected to have to buy the RAM separately, but some systems come with it.

The only thing I could find on Newegg's site was a bundle that included mobo, RAM and CPU.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is SFF?

I just know that as soon as I hit submit on this post, that it will come to me.

    Thanks.

    SFF = Small Form Factor.

These are little PCs that are classicly used for home theater systems (HTPC) and for LAN parties.

    Here's an example: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...101-416&DEPA=0

Ah, I am familiar with that form factor, but it wouldn't suit my needs

    Thanks for the info, though.

If you're going to be building a computer from a barebones, you definitely have enough expertise to buy the parts separately and put them together. You'll be able to choose all of them and will most likely get a better deal too.

You're right about that, but I really would rather not spend all the time required to put it all together.

I could change my mind on this and based on what I am able to find out there, I may have to.
