Tiger Shark
max. memory frequency supported by mobo/cpu.
I have an acer 1362WLMI. It has a sempron 2800+ with 1600mhz hypertransport bus. and spec is listed as K8N800 chipset (without intergrated graphics). it currently has 2x 256mb PC2700 ram. I was looking in the future to get 1gb of ram, but was also looking at possibly getting pc3200 RAM.
I have searched for this chipset on the VIA site and couldnt find it or any info on the RAM compatibilty. But since its a s754 sempron with on-die controller it should support pc3200. the only other problem would be the BIOS, which has no manual memory setup. would the BIOS be set to SPD/auto? if so Im guessing it would auto detect the RAM speed for me?
thanks in advance.
