I suppose I'm playing devil's advocate here but was that really necessary? Yes, spammers are the bane of every person's existence but this seems overkill.

Guess there are different levels of consumer justice out there.

I can understand the anger. Not sure I'd murder over it, but to each country their own...

Prison would be more adequate. No matter how much I hate spammers, death penalty is never the right thing to do. All they do is waste other people's money and time after all.

It definitely wasn't necessary, spamming is annoying but definitely not worthy of violence or extremes like this.

A bit over the edge, but since spamming is not even a crime in Russia, I guess somebody felt they needed to take matters into their own hands.

I wonder how much money a businessperson in Russia can lose due to spamming. If it is a high number, many tens of thousands of dollars, I can see why someone would be uber-torqued.

    Killing...

Nothing is getting better in Russia. It's getting worse as a matter of fact. You wanna know what's the latest invention of the government? - You can go to prison if you're caught publically critisizing the Russian government or it's constitution. Democracy eh?!

Where's Bush when you need him? Oh, that's right, meeting with Putin to discuss the problems of other countries!

People yell at Bush for getting involved, then yell at him when he doesn't.

Anyway, politics are off topic so I'll get back on topic.

Is Russia part of any of those multi-country treaties about things like Copyright or Internet or stuff like that? Or do they have their own individual laws that cover technology stuff?

How are politics off topic in this thread? They're a big part of the general situation in russia, which has been the topic since post #6/7.
