8mm Tape Playable in Digital8 Camcorder?

Yup, that's the question. I have some 8mm tapes from like 10 years ago. I want to put them on DVD. I'd like to get a damaged unit off ebay that's digital8 with 1394 support so I can just upload it to Adobe Premire or Sony Vegas. I just want to make sure it will work before I spend $50.

I found this on the Wikipedia page for Digital8: "Digital8 equipment can not record in analog Video8/Hi8 format, but some equipment offers playback-compatibility with 8mm analog-recordings."

So I'd check the spec sheet for that particular camera.

Thanks, I check Wikipedia all the time. I don't know why I forgot to check it this time. It looks like most will.
