    You're right XJ, those pictures don't do justice. HDR is a light effect. Why taking screenshots when its dark.
    I think HDR in Oblivion is looking very good, Indoors and outdoors. Especially when the sun goes down behind the trees.
    First I played with 1280x1024+bloom+4xAA
    Now i'm playing with 1920x1440+HDR..... I love it!! Almost no jagies with this resolution. It looks like 1280x1024+2xAA I think.

    I'm running at 1280x1024 with HDR, and there's VERY little aliasing. I guess it's in part because things like trees and large landscapes don't tend to have the kind of edges that cause a lot of aliasing. I'm surprised that the characters are pretty smooth, too. I wish there was an option to run HDR with AA. I'm not sure if there's a technical reason why both can't be on, but I read something to the effect that performance would be horrible, so they make them mutually exlcusive. But when I get my Geforce 9800 GTX in a couple years, it won't be

    It's possible, the Xbox360 version does it. The x1k series of cards are the only card(s) capable of doing it currently. Bethesda could enable it on the PC if they wanted to, but they are a TWIMTBP title, so I doubt they would release a patch for ATi cards to do HDR + AA.

    How come I am able to have HDR in Source and not Oblivion?
    Is Oblivion hardware HDR only?

    HL2's isn't true hardware HDR using Shard Model 3.0... .so anything equal to or less than X800 won't have it... you need the new X1x series

    and anything lower than 6x geforces won't have it either
