I ran into a problem with it today. I downloaded some divx and it wouldnt play it. It would do the stop / go viewing. So I assume it just didnt like the compression or something. Plays fine on my PC.

You could try reencoding it with Dr. Divx OSS, or the converter that comes with the DIVX Create Bundle. Or if you really know your stuff, Virtualdub it.

Just use Jetaudio VX to recompress and resize the res... I've had some video files with such issues. JetAudio VX uses Xvid to recompress and does it well.

Oh and it's free! Not the Plus version though...

I rather stay away from the crap software that is bundled with the cowon.. Utter crap...

I prefer to drag/drop onto the drive itself... Plus the resizing takes a long butt time.

It's not that bad of a crap... really. And if you have a powerful PC like you do, it shouldn't take that long. I use "Cowon A2 1 Mbps" setting.

I'm gonna get it later tonight...

EDIT: nothing much to gloat over... mainly added Hebrew support.

    Cool...

When I encode a video from Divx using the cowon software it takes about 1/2 as long as whatever i am encoding. So a 2 hour movie will take me 1 hour to encode. No way am I waiting that long

This thing looks sweet but is it worth it? There is no removable battery so what happens in a year or so after it starts deminishing?

I want this or the archos av500 or av700

To me, it is worth it. This shouldn't run into the battery memory issues...
