Apache web server in Mandrake
I finally have a static IP and fast connection and would like to set up a simple website just to put up a resume and such.
I have been using Unix and Linux a lot recently with my work, but the key word there is USING. I havn't had much chance to really dig into he entrails of either. I have Mandrake 8 installed right now (Solaris HD died, it was a Quantum Bigfoot = P.O.S.) during install I told it to put apache on there. Problem is that the server doesn't start. When I manually stop and start it I get messages telling me that it failed to load and the perl-mod failed too. Is there something early on with a mandrake install that I should have done to make this work?
Again, I really only need the ability to load a simple site, with links.
