wifi goes out, then comes back

    hey all. happy Halloween.

i have a question regarding my wifi. my wifi just went out, and i could not connect back to it. this was a little bit ago. we just got done watching "drag me to hell". great movie by the way.

i go top change the dvd cuz now we gonna watch the hills run red. i go to do that, and the internet it back on. what could have caused that to happen? my lil sister moved in today, and was on u torrent, myspace, downloading garbage, music, mostly. probably just music. she installed a program from cricket cell phones, for what i have no clue. any ideas to why my wifi went off, and then back on? and while off, i cant connect or anything.

it could be any number of issues, first thing i would check is whether or not it was your isp, did a storm or something knock it out for a few minutes? more likely, and more problematic, did your little sister happen to download a virus with that music? with torrents, its a fairly easy thing to do, i would scan for a virus using spybot, or something else, I'm not familiar with the program from cricket.
In short, most likely, you have a virus, something very easy to get with torrents, or myspace for that matter.

    thank you for your reply.

well, for one, the internet works. the desktops internet works. the wifi just shutoff for a bit, and then back on. i would not put it past me that she could have gotten a virus from utorrent or myspace. i know its very easy. i changed my passwords for everything. and will be performing security maintenance. i ran a check the other day before she moved in, and my ma aint the brightest crayon in the box. i found trojan.random, well malware bytes found it. i took care of it. dont know if i got it all though.

i cant stand when people with no common sense of internet secuity, and computer use in general, hop on the internet and start clickin stuff. i hope i can fix all this. thank you again.

Wifi can drop connection easily which can be caused by many things such as your phone ring, out of range, interference by other wifi signal or other unknown signals..

for a mysterious reason my devices up stair can't stay connected to my wifi router..I spent a week scratching my head then I bought a booster and it fixed the problem..

Not sure what caused the problem in the first place but its possible that my neibor signal interference with my signal since there are so many wifi signal around here...some of my neighbor i can logon to there routers ..how funny
