Has got that jut
Blew some time finishing up some level 12-15 quests (I'm 28 now, was 26 when I started) yesterday just to make sure I didn't miss anything good (like more backpack SDUs), but now I'm caught up and a friend and I got through a few more story missions.
As a hunter, I had been focusing on the Bloodwing and sniper rifle routes (can't remember the official names) but I'm thinking about respeccing and trying out gunslinger; tried out a class mod that I found with +72% fire rate with pistols and it was AWESOME to shoot that fast. Want to find a good 6 bullet revolver first, though, all the decent ones I find only have 2.
Still trying to level my eridian weapon skill but the one I have has fallen behind my other weapons pretty quickly and it's kind of a chore to bother with. Hoping it will be worth it when I find a better one down the road.

So far every Eridian gun I've found has been absolute junk. I'm maybe 1/4 of the way done with Playthrough 2 so far.

Ok, a couple stupid questions, but what does the damage multiplier represent, for say a shotgun? And the extra attributes for an item, say +10% damage, is already factored into the stats or in addition?

Ive wondered that as well JDC. I've heard that with the shotgun there is the damage, then it is spread out into, say a x7, which would mean there are 7 pellets within that shot. All seven of those pellets would have to hit the target to give it the whole damage it says it does. (pieces of the shell separate and not all of them are going to hit) I don't know how that would work in a rocket launcher though. The x1,2,3,4 and I've heard of 5's but have never seen one in the bottom right hand of the weapon screen shows you powerful of an elemental chance it has. Basically every shot with a x4 will have elemental. x1 seems to be about 1 in 5-10 and so forth.
BTW in stead of going into new haven, backing out, going back in and repeat: you can just play the game right. There are PLENTY of gun and ammo chests all over the place. And nearly every enemy you kill drops something. Go have fun with the game instead of backing in and out. I just don't see the fun in that.

Agreed. Although I did find a shotgun-like Eridian gun which had a TON of shock damage. That came in handy for quite some time. I'm nearly through with my second playthrough now. I found an Eridian cannon I found does 1600 damage but it takes a few seconds just to reach the target. Not worth it at all. I figured those weapons were going to be the best in the game but...FAIL.

The +x% Damage that appears in the weapon text is already factored into the damage presented on the weapon. With a shotgun, you will see it say, for example, 50x11 or somesuch - this means that one shot will fire 11 "pellets", each doing 50 damage. In this example, hitting someone with all the pellets will do 550 damage.

I'm addicted to this game. I'm on my second playthrough with a 47 Hunter. I stopped at the part of the quest for weapon farming in the secret New Haven dungeon though. I've only found one Atlus weapon, and it's a sniper rifle. It isn't a pearl though... but it has some pretty good damage.
I'm going with this spec.. http://bit.ly/1cRGQW

Pearls a glitch with the game. The rarity of pearl weapons is so high that the game doesn't know what to do with them and just defaults the color to white. They'll show up at the top of your inventory though.

I have tomorrow off, so I'll either spend it doing actual chores that need doing or playing Borderlands all day long.

Another question, if you have a class mod that adds +2 to an attribute which is maxed, is the attribute capped at 5 or would it be +7? I'm looking to redistribute my Siren's skill points and wondering if I should max out a skill or let my class mod max it out.

Has got that jut
Beat the game a few days ago.
Running through the last few areas, I found 4 Eridian Weapons in about 3 minutes. Got a sniper rifle type thing that is alright but only has about 3 shots before needing to recharge, which makes it useless. Found the shotgun type thing that Snakespy mentioned, and it is pretty sweet; from any sort of fairly close range I can one-shot practically anybody, even those with shields (maybe two for the guys carrying physical shields). Still use that one a pretty good amount of the time. Also found the "wave cannon," whose only real drawback is the travel time of the bullets/energy shots. Useful as hell in the final few areas . Can't remember the other one I found, because it was pretty much useless as well. I've found 5 total, with the shotgun type being the only really useful one (outside of the wave cannon in that one area).

Find a skill that is a + to something readily viewable (like clip size, for instance) and max it out (respec if you have to, it's not that expensive). Then just see if your clip size (or whatever) still goes up when you add the class mod.
