    Win 7 and Lappy Batteries

    This is a bit interesting:

Microsoft denies Windows 7 battery problem
    http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-10449395-56.html

In a blog posting on Monday, Windows division President Steven Sinofsky said that the company's follow-up research shows that those seeing a notification that their batteries need replacing are getting the message because, in fact, the batteries are not performing up to a certain threshold.

I just like the fact that now that Microsoft is actually reporting the status, people are freaking out.

Before, because the OS didn't use the ACPI calls, it never even reported battery life status. I guess it's true, ignorance is bliss.

No issues with any of my laptops, but just for fun I put a bad battery back in my Inspiron 9400 -- and Yikes! Windows told me that my battery was failing. I'm freaking out!
