They mail you the package to ship it in. Not sure if that's the case anymore. It was a pretty easy procedure.
For a good time add SenorDestro to your 360 and Steam friend list. PSN: PoopRiot

Iirc they stopped giving out the coffins to cut costs. They will still generate a pre-paid shipping label but you have to supply the packaging.

edit: never mind should have read later posts. Didn't know they aren't sending you a box anymore that must be recent. Lame.

[Insert witty title here]
Got one last night.
I also noticed instantly how quiet the thing is. Makes movie watching much more pleasant.
Other than that, I'm just thrilled to finally have HDMI and a network adapter built-in (which works great, btw).

Has got that jut
I've considered getting one to replace my old 360, since it's quieter and has the built in wireless (no more converted router sitting in my living room!), but I'm not totally sure. I guess it would depend on what I could get for my old one, and how easy it would be to move my DLC over to the new console (as well as delete my information from my old console).

If you're local Gamestop has any instock they'll give you $100 for the console and controller, separate for any accessories, including hard drive, wireless adapters, controllers, etc. I paid ~$87 out of pocket after trading in my launch system, extra controller, memory unit, and 6 games.
You can transfer your content licenses via the xbox website, plus it has your download history so you can redownload games, dlc, etc. You can also use a USB stick to transfer most items.
The promo expires the 18th though.

I would be interested to see how many owners of currently working systems are switcing them out for the new one. Hell, I'd love to see final numbers for how many units have sold to unique owners as opposed to multiple system owners. I know tons of people that bought new systems while theirs were getting repaired. Never made sense to me.

Hmm that may be a good deal..I don't want to trade in any games though that would probably take a huge chunk away especially for 6 games. Think they'd even take a super worn out controller or do they notice?

Games I traded in were pretty old (Madden 07, Tiger Woods 07) so I didn't get much credit for them, but they had another promo where you traded in 3 "next-gen" games and get $10 bonus credit.
It'll vary store to store on the condition of accessories. I got lucky when I traded in my system, the guy didn't even turn on the console or test any of the accessories, but I've read some stores hooking up everything and playing a game for a few minutes, YMMV.

Hmmm might as well try I have a first gen with a 20gig HD that doesn't read discs anymore, guess I could get rid Red Dead Redemption and a couple older games. Thanks for letting me know about that deal!

Awesome.
When I worked for Gamestop we always checked every console that got traded in. 80% of the time it was broken and the customer would act all surprised like they had no idea.

RRoDs, consoles not reading discs, consoles overheating after 5 seconds, we had one lady come in with a Wii that looked like it got chewed up by a dog, etc. And every single one we took back was gross in some way.

How did you tell them that you can't do the trade? Do you just bluntly say no or do you have say some special script?
