Thanks, I don't know the setting at all as I've stopped playing 3/3.5 right about the time it went on the shelves. It's all new to me.
There is so much cool stuff in the setting that I hope your group doesn't get too caught up in the MMO level grind and focuses on the story being told, at least a little.
Thankfully they're not like that. The GM is an old school RPGer and the group, while heavily into MMO, plays pen & paper for the very reason that it can do things an MMO can't do. However their MMO "roots" do show in their lingo and combat approach a lot.
Let me know if you need anything when it comes to setting info or whatever. I have been playing and running Eberron for years now and am always looking for a reason to talk about it. Happy healing.
All I know right now is that my character is a Cleric of Dol Dorn (I don't know who that is, we didn't have much time before the game so I've let the GM build the character). We're enlisted in Breland's army during a conflict with Mournland but the campaign seems based mostly on politics and corruption (at least the first session revolved around that, no battles so far).

That could definitely work out as a fun game. If you are interested in pouring through tons of info, check this link out for a list of links that I compiled (I am Talae over there).
At a quick glance, the intro to Eberron and the Grand History of Eberron are two good resources to start with.
Those boards have some decent conversations from time to time too. Also, the author himself makes a regular appearance to answer questions and give his take on situations (Keith Baker goes by Hellcow around the internet).

I have the wii copy and I find it fantastic. I would highly suggest it. The online is free and the play value is immense.
For this, I have a PSP and a Wii. I actually have the one for PSP and never got around to playing it. I may pick up the Wii version so that I can play on the bigger screen though.

Thanks, I'll check them out, the Grand History is a very impressive document. I think I may have the 3.5 first Eberron book laying somewhere, is it worth reading as an introduction?

3.5 Eberron and 4e Eberron are the same Eberron. 4e just filled in the blanks where needed. Also, the 3.5 campaign setting is a good read. Honestly, I personally find them all a good read.
As for the Grand History, that guy put a ton of work in. Very impressive indeed.

I'm traveling all this week so this coming Thursday is out. But I could do this coming Sunday or some time next week. I also got 2 to 3 people up for playing online as well and they are all awesome gamer folk. Shoot, one is even FEMALE!?!?!?!? :gasp:

What time? Sunday earlier morning generally tends to work better for me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1j4MZerR7Q This is a commercial for D&D 4e. It is appearing on TV. It is awesome.
Anyway, it would be after work, probably about 7 or 8pm and last for a few hours.

I'll have to see. I might not be able to get on till 6pm Pacific Time. How many people do you have lined up? My buds don't get out of work till late so they probably won't be to make it.

Got at least one on-board already. Also going to try to use something different than MapTools this time around:
