My personnal answer is comfort. My computer desk + chair can't rival my living room couch and TV.

I do agree though. That's why after finishing Dragon Age on console twice I bought it for PC because it is better to play it on PC. However the game wouldn't even install (the install itself bugged) which bummed me to no end as I first redeemed all the add-on codes.

Don't get me wrong i'm no console hater, I have a PS3 and a 360 with a gold account and I wouldn't have it any other way but right now the PC experience is much much better.

    *tear*

I miss my computer. Sold most of it, just have enough to make it a media server and basic internet for the girlfriend.

I switched to console....feel like a traitor haha. I know computers have higher resolution with eye candy and k+b superiority but honestly, all the games are the same. All we get is console ports with slightly higher textures and some AA, AF. Even options like those are starting to get stripped away and require you to force it manually through the V drivers.
My main reason is because computers are the ultimate form of entertainment....when your by yourself. My gf hated it when she would stay at my place for a couple of days and I would sit in the corner by myself and stare at my command center (3 screens lol). I couldnt do anything with her. Her son cant do anything me and neither can my own son. It sucked. Now we live together and I bought a nice tv, a xbox, surround sound and a media box. now we can all play games together and now I can play with all of me friends because apparently i only have 2 friends who play pc games besides me and my best friend just switched to xbox for alot of the same reasons as me.

I hope later I can afford and have a place to do another pc build. but for now, its one or the other. and this is the logical choice. plus, being lazy as hell, lounging on my couch is the most epic way to enjoy games.

the most annoying thing to me about consoles is there is no option for vsync....and it kills me.

sorry for thread jacking, had to through that out there

Just beat Costume Quest. Fun game but kinda repetitive.

Witcher 2. It was a great game. I loved the story and the deep plot line with multiple outcomes. The dialog was great and the graphics/art design were incredible. The combat was good for the most part, but it felt clunky toward the end when guy got really fast. It needed action canceling. Overall, it was a great experience that I would highly recommend. I played the last half of the game on my 50in 1080p plasma with a 360 controller and it was sublime. Definitely use the controller with this game.

    Thumbs up

    Dead Space 2

Superb game. Absolutely loved it from start to finish. I'm a big fan of horror, and more specifically, survival horror games, and the DS franchises is one of the last great ones left.
Of course, it's not much different from the first game, but that's fine by me. It still has one of the best settings, storylines, and atmospheres in horror games today, and I'm glad they picked up literally right where the first game ended.
The only downsides for me were it can get a bit repetitive and sometimes predictable as far as the necromorph attacks go, and it isn't quite as fresh feeling this time around (obviously), so some of the freak out factor and scares are down a touch.
Still, I had a total blast with it. Best $15 I've spent in awhile. It also was a good length too, took me ~15 hours to complete on Hard, and haven't touched the multiplayer yet.
Two thumbs waaaay up and definitely looking forward to part three!

[QUOTE=Lee_T;2747800]My personnal answer is comfort. My computer desk + chair can't rival my living room couch and TV

I have the best of both worlds. I game on my PC from my couch on my TV. I just finished Oblivion. Probably going to go to one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games but not sure next. I bought a pile of used games on Amazon a while ago and been playing them so all of the games I have played are old. Farcry, Mechcommander 2, Doom 3(I think I finished about 1/2 of it have to go back and finish it), about 90% finished with F.E.A.R, Sacred on my laptop.

I'm thinking about trying this out. Plugging my ASUS G73 into my 42" and using my wife's wireless keyboard/mouse. I'll report back my results

PC use is the main reason I'm thinking of upgrading my current 42" plasma. It's just 720p, and all the computers in my house outside of my netbook now run at 1080p, so using a computer on that TV jacks up the resolution and the desktop.

I can't recommend a plasma TV more. It completely changes PC gaming as far as I am concerned. There is a huge difference between gaming on a 23 or 24" monitor and a 50 or 60" TV now that you can get 1080p. I have a Samsung 850 and it looks great. I am thinking about getting a Panasonic GT series. If you can afford it then you won't regret it.

Yeah, plasma rocks. Still very satisfied with my Panny S1, and that's not even an upper-tier set.

Anyway, the demo for Space Marine is parked on my PS3 and waiting for my attention. The kids have finally gone to bed (no way am I playing this in front of them, the trailer was unspeakably bloody) and now my wife has commandeered the tv already. :/

So I wait my turn, and hope it psykes me up to buy the full game.

I just bought a 60" Panasonic ST30 plasma and I love it. Haven't played any games on it yet, but I'll be getting to that this weekend.
