Has got that jut
GOG Sales
GOG has had a lot of pretty damn good sales lately, so I figured I'd start a thread on it.
Currently, they're having a sale on all of their "classic D&D games." That means the Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Planescape: Torment, Dragonshard, Demon Stone, Temple of Elemental Evil, and Neverwinter Nights: Diamond edition. Most everything starts at $7.99 (ToEE is $4.79), but they get cheaper as you buy more:
"We're starting with a 20% discount if you buy one game from the offer. Every another game from the promo that you add to the order increases your discount with another 5%, so 2 games get you 25% off, 3 games get you 30% off and so on, until you get a 60% discount on your order of the whole D&D collection. Of course if you already own some of the games from the promo they will count towards your final discount!"
So, one game is $7.99, but if you add another they BOTH go down to 25% off and thus each becomes $7.49. If you buy them all each game is ultimately ~4 bucks. I already have all the infinity engine stuff, and they apply the discount to games you already own, so anything I decide to buy now starts at 45% off.
I have grown to really love GOG. No client needed to run the games like Steam; you just download the files and they're yours forever, DRM free. They also give lots of extras to d/l like manuals, art, avatars, soundtracks, etc.
Will keep this thread updated as their deals change. There's usually a weekend deal, plus some random stuff throughout the week.

They're also running a big thing for their 6 millionth download. Once they hit 6 million, everybody can download Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Director's Cut for free for 48 hours. I have no idea what that game is, just passing the info on.
But more importantly, if you are the lucky person to be download # 6,000,000, you win the entire GOG catalog of games. As the article mentions, that's downloads, not purchases. So you can participate even without spending a dime because you get some free games just for signing up.

Tempted to jump on the BG and ID series as well as planescape torment. Not sure when I can play them though. When does this deal end?
If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Ends Monday. I say go for it! I already owned most of the games from today's sale, so I bought the two that I didn't - Dragonshard and Demon Stone.

I'll probably be getting those two + ToEE. I also don't already have Neverwinter Nights, but for some reason I doubt I'll ever get into it.

ToEE is pretty good. Insanely hard game, I can never even get my characters to level 2. :O

Bought them. I'm not a huge fan of RTS so I passed on dragonshard. I enjoyed Demon Stone and I recommend it.

I started it years ago but didn't get too far (not due to difficulty, just stopped playing). Want to say I just played an hour or two.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto is top 5 game of all time for me. So funny.

[Insert witty title here]
Everyone keeps saying Planescape: Torment might be the best RPG ever, at least as far as storyline goes.
Even though I probably won't have time for it, I'm likely going to pick it up anyway.

If you're a fan of story-driven, dialogue-heavy RPGs with great characters, you will love Planescape Torment. The setting is awesome, much more interesting than (the imo boring and overplayed) Forgotten Realms.

It's less about story being great and more about fantastic writing and setting IMO.

I don't roll on Shabbos!
I had some problems running Torment when I tried a few months ago. Are GoG games patched to work natively?

God Enclave brings back memories. I remember at the time playing it on Xbox and there being some crazy difficulty spikes.
Do the hi-res/widescreen mods work with the GoG's versions of the Baldurs Gate and Planescape games?
