webcam freezes my vid on messengers

I have a Logitech external webcam and the software works great when I take snapshots or videos of myself, but as soon as I get on a Messsenger and talk to someone, my vid freezes.

Any idea why this happens?

My immediate reaction is that your computer may not be able to handle multiple processes. But them I want to ask you:

Does it freeze on both programs? I've found that programs that utilize the same features (VoiP, or video conferencing) when opened at the same time run into conflicts with each other. The most likely scenario (if your computer has enough power) is to say that you are having conflicts with your software.
