    Chrome, has it become crap?

I have noticed with the last few updates to Chrome it has really become crap. General slowness and instability for me. Also, Java plugin is all kinds of broken on chrome for Mac. I have 2 Desktops (Windows 7 x64) and 2 Laptops (OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion) all typically running Chrome as the default browser but I am starting to use Firefox more and more these days. Is it just me or has anyone else running chrome noticed some issues in the last few versions?

Also if anyone is interested in knowing why Chrome and Java on OSX 10.8 do not play well it is because the latest versions of Java version 7+ all run 64bit only. So while Safari and Firefox are both running 64bit browsers, Chrome is not. I would much rather not use Java at all but my companies' UC application, that we develop, uses Java for content sharing functionality and our company Juniper VPN boxes use Java as well.

I was once an avid Chrome user and recommended it to everyone but now, not so much.

I actually went from Chrome to Safari. Hard to believe. I find Safari faster and far more stable. Being able to easily sync bookmarks to Safari on iOS is an added perk.

I'd go back to Chrome if they went back to the basics, but Chrome isn't a browser anymore—it's an operating system of it's own. I still keep it running for the occasional thing that doesn't render right in Safari, and to use the Google Chat and Google Voice extensions, but that's about it.

Will have to check that out. Seems interesting, do the same plugins work? Like flash and java?

It is also nice to know I'm not the only one having issues.

I use seamonkey and chrome, I really haven't had an issue with either.

I'll take a look at Waterfox it sounds interesting.

Ditto on Safari. On my Mac Safari is so much faster and smoother than Chrome. I still use Chrome on Windows though. I do agree it has gotten slower and is more of a resource hog.

How do you sync bookmarks? That would drive me crazy.
