Raaawwwrrrrr
best f2p mmo's?
So I kinda wanted to get into a MMO. Preferably a f2p one, so far I have tried Dungeons and Dragons Online, Lord of the Rings Online and I just finished installing Aion. Any other good ones that have a large thriving community? Or is it still just WoW and GW2?

What you gonna do?!?
Tera goes F2P in less than a week. The quests are very kill X gather Y but the actual combat in the game is awesome. Definitely worth a try for free.

Awesome.
I enjoyed the hell out of DDO back when that first went F2P but it is heavily reliant on finding people to play with that aren't jerks (hint: pubs are jerks). I think I've poured the most time into that one than any other MMO out there partially because Astrosfan was my dedicated healer/tank hybrid and I got to sneak around disabling traps and sneak attacking bosses in the kidneys.
I recommend Realm of the Mad God which is the second best MMO ever made.

EQ2 is FtP and I'm still playing it 8 years later.
Atlantica online is also a lot of fun.
War... War never changes.

Mako Shark
Ok I'll probably get blasted for this but world of tanks is free with the option to pay for perks, if you will, to level faster. At first I thought I'd hate it, but it's a nice change from all of the fantasy based mmo's.

Hammerhead Shark
LotRO and GW2 are really the only F2P MMOs I play anymore. Planetside 2 is also pretty fun.
I downloaded Wizardry Online the other day but haven't played it yet. Supposed to be a more tactical MMO like DDO with permadeath and stuff.

DDO is awesome with a good group. However, you need a good group so that can be an issue.

If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Even having just one buddy with you makes that game awesome. It is definitely not solo-friendly, though.

Hell yeah that game was fun when we were playing. I've tried to play since, and can't get into it single player at all. I still have it installed and just recently loaded it up with my lvl 18 cleric and my goodness it is too complicated to try and play at that level with pubs when you've been out of it for a while. I also enjoyed Guild Wars, and have been debating on Guild Wars 2..but I'm too into my PS3 and Vita for PC gaming nowadays.
