It may be something to do with your plugins or add-ons. Try resetting FF to default settings. I was running into FF locking up on me constantly until I reset the browser to default settings.

Is the issue that FF locks up and stops responding or when you hit "search" nothing happens? Sometimes I have found that when running a google search, I have to hit the "search" button twice before FF will do the search. I'm running 20.0.1. But if you are talking about FF not opening when you click the icon, the only fix I have found is to simply run the installer and reinstall FF. This has been an issue for me since FF 13. I think it's a coding issue with FF as I have no adware, spyware, trojans or any errors on my system.

Yea I get that from time to time. What I find works is after you hit "search" in google of the magnifying glass in bing, don't let it cycle by itself. Hit the magnifying glass again (both google and bing) while its doing the search. That seems to work for me. It's as though the search engine needs to be reminded that I'm trying to search lol..

Check your privacy, exception, security settings and firewall exceptions. long shot but still worth looking into.
