Post 1 gig tbird running hot with chrome orb....

I have a thunderbird 1gig on a asus a7v133a board and it is running pretty warm.
bios says 51c and the probe says 60c this is with it being used not idle.
now i know the prob isnt as acurate as the bios but i would still like to bring down the temperture. im running a chrome orb with thermal grease right now
    I'm looking at a couple of fans/heatsinks
    flop32
    and alpha of some sort
    or a hedgehog
now the one thing im concerned about is noise witch of the bunch is the quietest
and which would you say is best
    thanks in advance

The new Globalwin HSF looks very solid if you dont mind noise. Other wise go with a fop32-1.

First off I do not buy the hedgehog, it is very expensive and does not offer the best cooling. The Delta's are good but need a loud fan to peform the best. The heatsink with the good price and noise is the FOP32-1.

The hedgehog is so expensive because it is an all copper heatsink. If it had as good a design as the Globalwin's did then it would be good. But it's poor design hold it back from being that good a cooler.

If you have the money, get an Alpha. They are expensive, but offer quiet, excellent cooling.

Alpha's PEP66's are around 2x the price of a fop32-1 and offer less cooling than a FOP38-1. They are a very good cooler just expensive. An Alpha PAL 6035 is good choice IMHO if cpu temp tests on socket A where done properly it would beat an FOP32-1.

No they use the same fan and make the same amount of noise
