Ok guys, just thought I'd put in a little note for the practice what you preach principle. Some of you guys might remember a dead Tbird that was baffling me to no end? Well, without another high wattage, high quality psu laying around I never tried switching out sources. What was my problem? Yes folks, it was the supply. So for you guys running 2 hard drives, a DVD, a CD-RW, and so on along with your Tbird that is competing for energy, remember to buy a nice fat PSU 300w is out the door, not wanting to even bother trying to get someone to honor a warranty, and a pretty little 400w is zipping along as fast as the evil UPS man can groove his legs.
Thats not good news to hear. I guess the days of the 250 are gone? Oh well,..I have a duel 300watt setup. One for the system and the other powers the OC's and drives...

Yeah, ego is a great thing. That is another reason OCing is a part of me I guess.

I have to give a nod in James direction. Even so far as to go into the UL specifications. Depending on what the company decideds to "tag" on there products it could be the "peak" power that it can handle over X amount of time. They can "technically" put a rating on that is misleading if they walk a fine line when you get certification. The UL guy that comes here to check our stuff has told some evil stories...
And about the audio stores.. *snicker* I love going in to places like Radio Scrap and acting stoopid they start talking all techie like and then *BOOM* hit right back with he actually truth.
Radio shack dude... Yeah this baby kicks out 400W peak to peak...
ME... WOW...really.... oh so then the actual peak wattage is 200 and that is only at a minimum time constant and if you take the true RMS reading then you are getting only 141.4W ..he he he
