    Post having lots of problems........

sicne everybody and their grandma has a Abit KT7A board, maybe youguys can help me....

for the past two days I've been trying to get ME running on the Abit KT7A-Raid witn an AMD T-Bird at 1.1GHZ (not OC'd)

I've tried everything on this page http://www.athlonoc.com/FAQS/KT7FAQ/kt7faq.htm

    here's what I'm experiancing....
it freezes under any type of load
    listening to Winamp it freezes
loading IE, or a web page it freezes
    loading Half Life, it freezes
and it sometimes freezes while booting....

FSB is runnign at 100 and I'm using PC-133 RAM
    I have a Diamond MX-300 sound card with SB16 emulation disabled(latest drivers)
I have a ATI AIW 128 with the latest drivers installed
I have the VIA 4in1 drivers installed (4.29)
    I've turned off AGP 4X
I've enabled the memory hole in the bios
I've moved sound cards, NIC's aroudn to different slots....

I'm going insane! it SHOULD work.....any suggestions? in the meantime I'm getting a enw sound card and ATI AIW Radeon.....

Sound like a pickle. Have you checked your temperatures? Maybe the heatsink isn't fastened properly so your cpu is heating up. Does it freeze whenever Windows finishes loading, or it will be good if you let it sit there but freeze when you want to do something? What kind of ram do you have? Is it in the right dim slot? Maybe it is 10 nan-ram and you have it on 8. Try upgrading to win2k. All I can think of right now.

I'll double check the RAM settings and will get my hands on a copy of Win2k

Have you run a test on your ram just to make sure that is ok. I was having a lot of the problems that youre talking about, I ran a test using Norton Utilities Mine was just unstable enough that it would freeze up in some of the games and programs that I would run.
    Just a thought.
