    Post KT266A mobo...w/RAID

Hey guys...I'm planning on getting an Athlon XP system pretty soon. Are there any good KT266A boards with onboard RAID? Or should I go with a 761 board that has it, such as the 8K7A+ (which is what I use in my current system). Or completely forget RAID all-together? My problem is that I really like having extra IDE controllers...and I don't want to have to use a PCI slot for a RAID controller.

I'd really appriciate your thoughts on this.

    Thanks.

Many have RAID, see http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mikesp/ (a great little comparison page that one of the forum members did).

Get the shuttle ak31 version 3.1 ($80 newegg). Comes with 4 ddram slots, 6 pci slots, and 6 usb ports. Very fast and cheap. No problems for 4 weeks.

That one doesn't have onboard RAID, which is what he wants.

I think your best bet is wait for the Abit KR7A+ RAID. It should be out by the end of November/early December. The downside? It's one of the most expensive motherboards out there, listing for $180-200 on pricewatch now. Other than that, it should be a great board.
