Artifacts in Max Payne with Kyro 2
Having a real problem with my setup... I'm having a lot of artifacts in a lot of games but most noticably Max Payne with my Hercules Prophet 4500 / Asus A7V266 / 256 Crucial PC2100 setup...anybody got any ideas why? It isn't overclocked at all, so I can rule that out...I have noticed however the CPU sits at aroun 70 Degrees C and my PCI cards dont leave much breathing space for the Kyro...could it be a heat dicipation problem?

could be a couple different things.
first off do you have your cpu overclocked? i read that max doesnt work well with an overclocked cpu. my brother's 1ghz tbird can verify that.
next, what drivers are you using? with the drivers off the cd my kyro runs fine. i tried those new drivers from power vr and max gave me alot of artifacts and other screwups. so i changed back to the original drivers.

Nope the card nor the chip aren't overclocked at all...although I know that the Asus A7V266 has a slightly higher fsb setting than normal...134 but surely as little as that cant be causing these problems...I rekon myself it's a heat problem, just looking for anything that I havent taken into account. I have an SCSI Hard Disk and DVD-ROM has anyone had any issues with certain games and the combinations of hardware I have?

I don't have Max Payne but are you running the game in OpenGL or Direct3D.
I know for a fact that Kyro has problems in OpenGL, so try Direct3D.
