Post Can I use 2 sound cards at the same time?

I have two sound cards, SB Live value and a aureal vortex card. The SB card is the one that I have installed now, but it doesn't have an ouptical out. I need one to record mp3s on to my mini disc player. My aureal card has one, is there a way to have both cards installed and and only use the aureal card for mp3 recordings and use the SB Live as the primary card?

    Thanks,
    Duo

I've never done it, but Win98 or greater should be able to pull it off quite easily. Once you install a second card, a new Wave-In and Wave-Out device should be present. Just modify the settings in your MP3 software (ie WINAMP) to the audio out of the 2nd card instead of the 1st card and voila. At least that's how it's supposed to work.

Throw in the second card and try it. You've got nothing to lose.
