Disabling or Uninstall Microsoft Instant messenger.

How do I uninstall this under windows XP. It's really annoying. I don't like to use it. Never want it and never will. Everytime I boot up the system it stays in my start up task bar.
There's no option for me to uninstall it from ADD /and Remove

I believe taht XP has msconfig, win2k didn't, just hit start, then run and type in msconfig, look around there and you should find something about what programs start up automaticly, just disable msconfig from that list,=.
