    Post Oracle 8 SQL/Plus

    I just started a database class this semester, the teacher is making it hard, no lab, no computer projections, just lecture on the darm dry erase board. Then also I can't work on it on my nice 1Ghz T-bird, I have to sit in lab to work on everything

    Got 2 questions:

    1. Is there any good sites that I should visit for Oracle that may help me out(examples, demo, etc.)

    2. Is there any way I could work on it at home?

    Thx.

    I don’t know if this is exactly what you are looking for but you can try
    http://otn.oracle.com/
    <A HREF="http://www.oracle.com/support/metalink/index.html" TARGET=_blank>
    http://www.oracle.com/support/metalink/index.html[/url] Is a great site, but I do not think you can get in without a support agreement.

    As for Oracle at home try downloading the personal edition of 8i.

    If you have a fast connection you may even be able to download the full version from otn, but it is BIG.

    I have a cable modem @ home, but I only have like 1.5 GB left. How much does it take up. I don't care if its the personal edition as long as I can get all my errors at home(well hopefully not, but it wouldn't be programming if you didn't get them). Right now I'm making a database to mimic a university database that holds teachers, students, classes, enrollment, offerings of course and prerequisites.

    That's the first assignment, can't wait for the next one, yeah right.

    Thx.

    As I scroll down the list, I only see that its under WIN NT and nothing under win 98 or 9x. Does it only support NT? Hmm maybe I'll bring up my old 350Mhz k6-2 and put NT on it. Don't have a monitor for it but I'll only need to use it for Oracle. Too bad I don't have win 2000.
