    I have been wondering about this for a long time now, and have also attempted several times, but have yet to succeed.

    I'm interrested in writing simple programs to change settings within the windows registry, just for a start

    Which would be the easiest and most understandable language to learn? I keep hearing good comments about VB, but it costs money

    I think there is a version of VB called "working model" or somethign like that, which is either free or cheap.

    check that out for a while, if you like it....buy VB

    VB is very easy for that type of stuff.

    Hobbes2112, isn't it the "Control Creation Edition"? I haven't kept up on VB for a couple years, so I could be wrong.
