Need help with batch file

Ok, here goes again.

Grizzly, I noticed you locked my post. If you would please look at the replies in the OS forum, then you would notice that I didn't get my question answered and that nobody really knows how to write such a script. I didn't mean to be rude by posting two places, but seeing as no-one knew how in the OS forum, I decided to post it here as well. So, here goes again

I need to create a batch file in Win98 / Win2k pro that can log on to my ISP via. telnet each time I boot. I normally use telnet.exe to log on. That is, open up run and type "telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx yyy" where x is the IP and y the port. Then it will prompt me for username and password, just like when you connect to an FTP via. an MS-DOS Prompt.

Please help

As far as an answer to your questions goes, from what I gather in the OS-forum responses, the problem you're running into is not the telnet attempt, but rather...you can't figure out a good way to auto-login / password so you never have to type it in again.

This might be a problem...and I'm wondering if the best solution might actually lie in a 3rd party telnet application. I really don't think the simplistic built-in Windows telnet app will be able to do this for you.

Grizzly brings up a good point. I had an old Telnet application called CommNet which did dialup and a couple other things too. You might want to try to dig this program or one similar to see if they have a solution to your scripting problem.
