    Question KT7-RAID Screen goes blank!?!

    I have the KT7-Raid with an Athlon 1.2 MHz and 512 mb cas 2 Crucial ram. Ati 32MB DDR Radeon, SB Live!, and dual booting win98SE and win2000. Sometimes, the video images just goes out and monitor shows that is it receiving no signal...requires reboot.

    Any thoughts?

    The reason that this is happening could be because either your video card is dying or maybe its just a simple problem, maybe your monitor cable is loose. maybe something in your computer is loose. Try putting it in a lower resolution then it is now and see what happens, you could also try another video card if you have one laying around.

    How common would a video card "death" be?

    I have never overclocked (sorry OCers) any of my system, and my system usage is not very graphic intense. I run at 800x600 on a P.O.S. IBM 15" 2124 monitor...I am pretty sure it is not the monitor's fault though.

    I heard that ATI cards and the KT7-Raid are not friendly to each other...an truth to that?

    i dont have one single problem and i have almost the same system except for the sound card... i've never heard of radeons and kt7s not getting along...

    there could be a short or something somewhere though... i suggest(if you can) trying to switch the video card and switching back. while you're in the system, make sure no metal is touching metal on any boards...
    hope this helps... it's very hard to troubleshoot those kinds of problems without actually seeing the computer itself
