Grand Prix 3 problem

I have GP3 running on w2k with a 32Mb TNT2 card. Whenever I play the game it only runs from software, not the video hardware. When I do the calibration / test, it is obvious that it runs in 3d, but when i go back to the game, it switches back to software.

When I click the "drop-down" to change from software 3d, it is the only option in the list.

Any ideas???

I have installed the latest drivers for the video.
