    Post 7 layer ISO/OSI vs. 4 layer TCP/IP

    Can anyone explain what the benefits of using ISO/OSI instead of TCP/IP?

    No one has answered this yet, so I'll give it a go. It should probably be in networks.

    I think one of us is a little confused. AFAIK, the 4 layers that comprise of a TCP/IP packet (physical, data link, network, session) are in fact part of the 7 layers of the OSI model.
