I’d be surprised if TBred debuts at 2400+. 2200+ is more likely IMO.
I think that socket is for notebook use. Desktop systems will continue to use the current socket. Hammer will have a new socket with a lot more pins.
-
Yeah the Hammer will definitely have to have a new Socket. But I think the T-bred will still be Socket A.

Ditto, right after the T-Bred and just before the Hammer the Barton will be the last to use SocketA.

The Barton is from AMD as well? Why so many new processors in between so little time?

That's unreal. Who could keep up with all that??? It's almost like not worth buying one because the next one is around the corner. Since I got my XP 1700+ now I'll be holding onto that one for awhile and then get another top of the line processor a year or two down the road.

Are all the Dies going to come unmarked, or is that just a prototype pic or something?
Nothing to see here. Move along.

Can somebody explain to me what the differance is between AMD Thoroughbred and the upcoming AMD Barton.
Is Barton going to use Socket A or is it going for a new one?
Seeing the Road Map it seams that it will be using the same socket but I would prefer to know than to guess it will.
This isn't my main unit any more(It got changed early Jan 2002).

From what I know the Barton will use Socket A. But unfortunately I cannot guarantee that for you.
