freezing sound/video/comp
problem: my computer (even more recently) freezes, when it does it gets little green dots (between 5-10 I would say) on the top part of the screen, and the picture freezes, and the sound stops. I have had this problem on all these OS's 95se/98/98SE/ME/2kpro/XPpro. I have tried at least 10 different versions (newer and older) of my video card drivers (i have a leadtek winfast GeForce 2 PRO). I dont think its a sound issue, since the MoBo (IWILL KA-266) has onboard audio which I use. I dont think its with a particular program, because I have done SO many formats. Its not a virus i dont think because of so many fdisk/formats and that I have norton2k2 corperate with the latest updates and it finds no virii. Not that it matters, but I have norton personal firewall 2k2 with the latest updates. sys specs here:
1.333GHz T-bird
Iwill-KA266 mobo
256mb crucial PC2100 DDR
40GB Maxtor (7200RPM)
I cant think of anything else...I update most of my drivers, and i keep my stuff pretty well organized, I know a fair amt. about computers so its kinda embarrasing to come here with this problem, but I CANNOT seem to fix it.

Have you tried the normal things like turning off AGP 4* and fastwrites in the BIOS.
What OS are you currently using?
Are your system temps ok?
Is your vid card properly seated ( its worth taking it out and putting it back in again.

Is the video card overclocked? If so, try backing off the overclock a notch.
Do you have the WinFox utility installed?
If so, how are the temps on the video card? Could be overheating.

i am not OC'd anywhere in my system. I am running fine for temps (less than 50°C). I have a system fan right below the video card, sucking air off of it (and the vid. card fan blows down, so they work together) I dont have winfox installed, and the video card temps are fine.

Try flashing the BIOS, i used to get the same problem on a Gigabyte board and the suggested fix was to flash the BIOS, apparantly this fixed it. I never tried it though as after i upgraded to XP it never happened again.
