I guess my 8KHA+ "blowing up" was a good thing!

I just got my new watercooling system in, http://members.lycos.co.uk/zackbass1, and after running it a few days and enjoying temps in the low 30s while having my Vcore all the way up in the BIOS and was trying to squeeze that last little bit out of it when it wouldn't start. I reset the BIOS several times, and then when I tried to start it for the last time the chip closest to the core logic fan connector blew up into a white "thing."

I looked online for the best new mobo for a day, and then ordered a 8K3A+ and 512mb of PC2700 OCZ RAM. I'm not sure exactly why I chose OCZ RAM beside having very good prices and a heat spreader.

When the board arrived it was everything I hoped. All the standoffs were in the same place, so I didn't have to remove or add any, but most importantly the CPU socket is in the exact same place. My watercooling setup is hardpiped (yes, this word is derived from hardwired) so I don't have to bend new pipes going to and from the 8045 waterblock. The only thing I was dissapointed with is that they dumped the active cooler on the core logic for a large passive one.

The only thing I can say about this board is that it overclocks like a GOD! This thing actually has enough Vcore adjustment to challenge my watercooling system! I got my FSB up to 155 with a 13x mult on my XP 1700+. The big thing with this is that my RAM timings are a bit slow, as it is CAS 2.5. Maybe I could get better results with some CAS 2.

Do you mind posting screenies of that awsome OC?

Your ram might be "CL 2.5" but you can easily run it at 2 without any problems. Go into your BIOS and set the memory timings to Turbo, and 4 bank. Good Luck
