    advice on new AMD case

    Hey guys-

As you can tell from my sig, I am in desperate need of a new computer, and I plan on buying a t-bred when they come out, or perhaps I'll wait for the hammer. Anyway, I am totally clueless on cases- I know that people recommend the Lian-Li ones, but most of those look like the tower kind with room for 10+ bays, and I know I'll never need that. I imagine I would like to have a 400W+ power supply, and perhaps usb 1.1 or 2 access in the front. Does anyone have any good leads for me?

Also, what would you guys recommend as the best heatsink for overclocking purposes? (assuming I will be using thermal paste)

I plan on buying everything fron newegg or mwave.

    Thanks guys -

Antec for cases. If you're going to overclock, Thermalright AX-7 HS, Panaflo 80mm fan, and AS3; if not, the retail HSF and thermal compound will do just fine.

Tell me about it!! I'm pretty darn excited.

OS-Wiz - That Antec SX840 you use looks pretty nice over at newegg - do you use any other case fans besides the two that came with it?

I can't even fathom what it will be like jumping up to a new computer. I will definately be asking a ton of questions before I jump in and buy.

What other cases are you guys using for AMD computers with good PS?

Referencing the link above to the Chieftec DX-01BLD from OCsystem.com:
1.) Will the side mount intake fan interfere in any way with an Alpha PAL8045T w/Pabst 80mm fan which sticks out from an ASUS A7V333 (KT333) mobo?
2.) The link indicates that this case has a "420W dual fan P4 ready power supply". If I were to buy an ASUS A7V333 AMD mobo, do I have to do modifications to the case for it to properly receive the AMD mobo?
3.) What modifications do I need to do for the P4 Power supply to accomidate the AMD configuration?
Im new to this but like the case and the ASUS A7V333 setup. Thanks in advance for your advise.

The case comes with both fans setup as exhaust fans on the back panel. I use two HDs in slots 1 and 3 of the drive cage. What's really nice about the Antec drive cage is that it has a built-in mount for a fan you can use as a drive cooler. So, just to avoid any possible heat problems with the HDs, I mounted another fan as an intake fan in the front of the drive cage. With just one HD I wouldn't think you'd need the drive cooler tho.

Beware, the Chieftec cases don't use Antec PSUs although the case is made by the same company (Chemling I believe??). Unless you want to spend the money on a Lian Li or CoolerMaster, stick with Antec!
