I am trying to install an ATA100 IDE HDD using the Serillel connector provided with the AT7-MAX2 board.
Where would the drive show up in the BIOS?
What I understand is that:
Primary Master
Primary Slave
Secondary Master
Secondary Slave
correspond to the 2 "normal" (non-RAID and non-SATA) IDE connectors on the board (IDE1 and IDE2). So they would be HDD0, HDD1, HDD3, and HDD4 in the BIOS.
Then the there are the 2 IDE connectors for the RAID controller (HPT374), IDE3 and IDE4 in the board.
Inside the RAID BIOS it list 4 IDE Channels (with both Master and Slave entries each). There are only 2 IDE connectors for the RAID controller, wouldn't that correspond to only 2 channels?
Anyway, I connected the drive using Serillel (following the instructions provided), but the drive does not appear/is not detected in the BIOS nor the RAID BIOS.
The Serial ATA connectors (2 of them) are controlled by a Marvell 8030 controller. Where can I access what is connected to this controller?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
