Best Laptop for under ~1500(US)

I was looking at a gateway I like the look and I like how they give you the actual windows CD not a restore crap CD. The 450 series are light too and i can customize them to get the price i want. Not sure how good the battery life is but I get one for 1480 8x DVD everythign i think i want but was wondering what everyone elses advice is. $75 off all gateway laptops with FIN75
