I've been out of it for a long time now but I remember when PC1600 and PC2100 were first coming to market, and everyone was saying that you have to use registered DDR DIMMs if you're going to have over 512MB in the same system. Does this still hold true for today's PC2700 (and above)? I think it would be pretty inconvenient to have to 'settle' for registered PC2700 if you want to go above 512MB. Heh, I have a friend that wants to get 1GB of Corsair's XMS PC3500 and I wanted to first make sure that it was possible.
