Smile Playstation / XBox Controller Pinouts

Hey guys, I'm working on a project at school involving wireless transmitters/recievers and basically the objective of the project is to send information from one side to another side (uni-directional only). We were offered a variety of suggestions like transmitting weather data from outdoors to indoors, etc., but I'd like to make a wireless controller for the XBox or PS2. I just need a place to find the pinouts for the controllers and since they might be serial, information on that format too. I can use a microcontroller like an Atmel to convert the signals, but as long as I know what each pin does, I can go from there.

I'd prefer to make it for the PS2 since I don't have an XBox personally.

Not sure if this was the forum for it, but it was this, general hardware or highly tech, so I chose this.

    Thanks in adavnce.

EDIT: Might have to scratch this idea, just found out the PS2 is bi-directional.
