Basically I was looking for something that displays a digital temp. on the cpu/system in a drive bay. Seems a lot better than software monitoring, especially if you're doing something under load and don't want to have to go back and check from the desktop.
I never thought about hard drive cooling but it seems logical, since they do tend to get pretty warm and the coolers have a temp. display plus fan adjustments and USB connectors. The one review I found though said the cooling fans didn't drop the temp. of the hard drive at all. So who needs more fans if they don't really work? Are there coolers out there that actually do work?
For fan speed adjustments the Sunbeam seems to be highly regarded here but I can't really figure out why. No temp. displays, lights that are too bright and the pots will take a fan all the way off which means a fried cpu if you're not paying attention or someone else decides to piddle with the knobs.
I'm leaning towards a vantec or thermotake but I've just started my investigation so tips are appreciated.
