FS/FT: Lots of Items!
Hey all. My apartment is starting to get way too cluttered and I'd kinda like to stay in my roommate's good graces, so I'm trying to unload some things. MO preferred, checks accepted. Also looking for trades. Examples of some things I want are at the bottom. Sorry about the poor quality pictures... I just borrowed my roommate's webcam. It's just mainly to prove that everything exists, anyway. Everything is in great condition unless otherwise specified. Let me know if any image links don't work.
If interested reply in this thread or email me at [email protected].
Heatware under KommisMar.
I'll entertain any reasonable offer. Please let me know if there are any questions.
CPU:
- Intel Pentium III (Tualatin) 1200MHz / 256KB Cache. This is from the retail package, but unfortunately does not unclude the sticker (used it) or the cooler (gave it away). Does include the chip, manual/certificate of authenticity/warranty, and UPC/proof of purchase (torn from the retail box, which I tossed). Shouldn't be hard to overclock this if your mobo/RAM can handle 150MHz, but I never tried. I have run the chip only at stock speed. Packaged 5/9/2002. Can't compare with an Athlon as a gaming CPU in the same price range, but would be very nice in a server, workstation, or HTPC. $110.00 shipped from Newegg. Will sell for $85.00 shipped.
Or:
$95.00 shipped with Vantec or AMD (if you're into irony) cooler
$98.00 shipped with Thermalright cooler

COOLING:
- AMD retail cooler. Unused. Came with Athlon XP 2400+. Aluminum. $12.00 shipped. Socket A/370. 60mm fan.
http://www.msu.edu/~artmanja/pics/amdcooler.jpg
- Vantec CCK-6040 cooler. Socket A/7/370/462. Used. Polished copper. 60mm fan. 5500RPM / 30.0CFM / 39.5 dB(A). Used for about 6-7 months. Slight discoloration from fingerprints/AS3/acetone cleaner. $12.00 shipped.

- Thermalright SK6+ cooler. Socket A/370/?. Used. All copper. Includes mounting clip and fan retainers. Meant for 60/80mm fan. 92mm fan can be mounted diagonally if you're careful. Used for about one month. Slight discoloration from fingerprints/AS3/acetone cleaner. A little dust. Blew most of it out - will try again before shipping. $15.00 shipped. Can include a new generic 80mm/4 pin fan if you want for $2.00. Otherwise, package is heatsink only.

MOTHERBOARD:
- Biostar M6VCT Socket 370 (Tualatin). Supports all Coppermine/Tualatin Celeron and Pentium III CPUs EXCEPT Tualatins with 512KB cache. 66/100/133MHz bus speeds. Has mild overclocking options (1MHz increments) and ability to adjust VCore settings. Can't run at bus speeds that the CPU is not "supposed" to be run at, though (i.e. you can't run a Coppermine Celeron at 100MHz). VIA chipset. Supports up to 1.5GB of PC133 SDRAM (I have used the full capacity with no problems). One AGP2.0 slot, five PCI slots, one ISA slot (shared). ATA33/66/100. Serial/Parallel/ECP/IR ports. Two USB1.1 ports. Extra USB1.1 header on board. PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports. AC97 2.2 audio. Includes only the board, unless I happen to find the manual and driver CD (both are easily downloadable from the Biostar website.
READ THIS CAREFULLY: I used this board for a little less than a year and a half. As I put in the third CPU, one of the HSF retainer tabs broke off of the socket. It is one of the center tabs, meaning that if the cooler you want to use doesn't take advantage of the outside tabs (the socket has two, not three, tabs on either side), you could possibly have trouble. The third chip I used was the Pentium III mentioned above. With this CPU, I tried three different coolers - the Intel retail cooler, the Vantec (mentioned above) and the Thermalright (also above). Of the three, only the Vantec used the outside tabs. I had no trouble getting any of them to feel snug on the CPU. I had temperature problems though, and I never figured out if the readings were incorrect or if the heatsinks weren't making proper contact. I tried a couple of case fans, lots of case fans, and CPU cooling ranging from an undervolted Panaflo fan with the Thermalright to the ultra high-speed Vantec, and I always got temperatures ranging from the high 40s (idle) to the low 50s (load). I eventually got sick of troubleshooting. During this time, though, I never had a single lockup or any hint of instability whatsoever. All the same, you have been warned. Otherwise, apart from a little dust in the hard-to-reach areas, the board is in excellent shape.
I found this to be a very stable and problem-free platform, although it isn't as feature-rich as other S370 options.
Zalman heatsink installed on Northbridge.
Will sell for $35.00 shipped. $30 if purchased with CPU.

RAM:
- Infineon 256MB PC133 CL2. 8 chips. Unknown PCB maker. Used for about a year. Never gave me a problem. $35.00 shipped. $30.00 if purchased with motherboard or CPU.
- AOpen 64MB PC66 (or may be PC100 - I really don't know) (2x32MB sticks). 16 chips per stick. NPN chips. Used by my father for a few years in a rock solid K6-2 system. $10.00 shipped.
- Compaq 128MB PC133 ECC (2x64MB sticks). Could possibly be bad. I don't have a motherboard that expressly supports ECC, but tried it in a couple - one recognized the RAM but wouldn't boot into Windows, and the other just gave me beep codes. $10.00 shipped as is.
CARDS:
- "Compaq" (pull) internal ISA 56k v.90 modem. Rockwell chipset. If you've got an ISA slot and don't want to troubleshoot a Winmodem, this is for you. Purchased for $55.00 new two years ago. Includes drivers for Win95/98/ME and I would assume 2000. Worked like a dream for me in Win98. Never tried it in XP - by the time I upgraded, I was back to broadband. XP has drivers for practically everything, though. $30.00 shipped.

- Cardexpert S3 ViRGE DX video card 8MB (or 4MB?) (PCI). Picture available on request - I've got it in a system right now. $10.00 shipped.
- PCI 10/100 NIC. Unknown maker. Chips say Intel, Pulse, and Atmel. $10.00 shipped.
http://www.msu.edu/~artmanja/pics/tinynic.jpg
- Two 10mbit PCI NICs. One is an SMC Etherpower PCI SMC-8432BT-50. Twisted pair or coax. The other is by an unknown maker. Chips are Intel, Fil-Mag, and SEEQ. Coax, twisted pair, and a 15-pin connection I'm not familiar with. Take them both for $10.00 shipped.

- Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive. Includes the two unopened 3.5g tubes plus plastic spreader. Unused. $18.50 shipped at Coolerspot.com - I'll sell for $11.00 shipped.
- Vantec EZ-Swap Removable Hard Drive Rack. ATA 66/100/133. Used for about 6-8 months then had to remove for lack of free 5 1/4" bays. 40mm fan on the back is a little dusty and could stand to be removed and cleaned. Like new otherwise. Nice looking, LCD screen is kinda cool. Includes manual and keys.

THINGS I WILL ACCEPT IN TRADE:
Willing to work out a trade that includes cash going in your direction depending on what you've got.
- Pentium Pro / Pentium II / Celeron CPUs. Will not give up much for these; I just like collecting obsolete CPUs. Also could use some 386s and older. No 486s, Pentiums, or Pentiums w/MMX.
- Non Sound Blaster-compatible soundcards. Examples include the Game Blaster, Gravis Ultrasound, Roland LAPC-1, Mindscape Music Board, IBM Music Feature. Could also use a Sound Blaster Pro (not clone) or Adlib Gold. Or outboard modules like the various Sound Canvas flavors.
- Old or current game titles with original packaging (or not, depending on whether I want the game badly enough ) for Amiga, Tandy 1000/PCjr, or more current PCs. Also will take some PSX/PS2/DC games. Try me. There are exceptions, but in general I prefer adventure, RPG, action, and strategy.
- Select Tandy 1000 or Amiga 1000 hardware.
- A working Amiga 1200 or Commodore 64.
- MIDI controller cards (MPU-401), PCI or ISA.
- Any 3dfx video card other than the Voodoo3 3000.
- Any interesting electronic music hardware, computer or otherwise.
- A Radeon 8500LE or better (or DX8-generation nVidia hardware)
- DDR. Need up to 1GB. Speed not particularly important as I don't overclock.
- Be creative.
