    Unhappy Monitor problem

hey guys, i was on my brothers pc last night, and messed with the monitor refresh settings. He had at 60hz and complained of headaches, so i uped it to 100hz, but then the monitor flashed a warning sign, "Warning, out of range" "Are these settings correct?" But i can't select yes or no. It doesn't take input from the keyboard, and none of the buttons on the monitor let me select yes or no. The monitor is a hitachi cm615.
Now, when the computer is rebooted and put in win2kpro, this warning sign appears, and i can't get around it. I know its because of the refresh settings i chose. I can get the computer booted up in safe mode, but thats it. So i was thinking about removing the monitor drivers, thinking that might work. Making the computer use default drivers.
Well, any help is greatly appreciated.
Btw - the computer is a dual boot with winme on the c drive, and win2kpro on the d drive, so getting into the files is not a problem.
    - Peter.
